Ana Melissa is a seasoned HR professional with over 20 years of experience in leading and shaping human resources strategies across various industries and territories and currently serving as the VP, Deputy Global HR Officer at Pan-American Life Insurance Group, based in Panama City, Panama.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Ana Melissa leads key strategic projects and plays an active role on the Organization and Compensation Committee with the Board of Directors. In addition, she provides crucial support to Executive Management Committee Members and collaborates closely with the Senior Vice President for HR to spearhead the reorganization and transformation of the Global HR structure and strategy. Her current responsibilities extend to overseeing HR operations and execution in the U.S., Latin America, and Caribbean Regions, ensuring their effectiveness.
Ana Melissa has dedicated 7 years to Pan-American Life Insurance Group, where she currently serves as the VP, Deputy Global HR Officer, based in Panama City, Panama. In her previous role as Vice President of Human Resources for Latin America at Pan-American Life Insurance Group, Ana Melissa played a pivotal role in transforming the HR function in the region. She defined a strategic roadmap to address key business needs, ensured the successful implementation of a new HCM system (Workday), and led HR strategies for business continuity.
During her career, Ana Melissa also spent a combined 14 years at Nestlé and Copa Airlines, where she held various HR leadership roles in different Countries.
Ana Melissa holds a master’s degree in human resources from Instituto de Formación Empresarial & Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, earned in 2001 in Madrid, Spain. Furthermore, she obtained her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Kansas in 1999, having pursued her undergraduate studies there from 1995 to 1999 in Kansas, USA. Throughout her career, she has been actively engaged in leadership roles within the industry and has made substantial contributions to the success of various organizations.
