Pan-American Life Insurance Group Appoints Karyn Gooding Dasent as Vice President, Regional Chief Operations Officer

Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, January 12, 2023 - Pan-American Life, Insurance Group (PALIG) a leading provider of life, accident and health insurance throughout the Americas, announced today the promotion of Karyn Gooding Dasent to Vice President, Regional Chief Operations Officer in the Caribbean. 

In her new role, Mrs. Dasent will provide strategic direction and oversight for Group and Individual Insurance Operations and IT, ensuring the business’ operational processes and administrative support structures are positioned to achieve optimal results. Championing the company’s “Easy to Do Business” initiative, she will ensure that PALIG’s service models are simple and transparent, while supporting the ongoing transition from paper to digital processes.   

“Karyn joined PALIG’s Human Resources team in 2018 and—due to her exceptional leadership competencies—was quickly promoted from Senior Manager to Vice President,” said Greer Quan, the Group’s CEO of the Caribbean.  

“She was instrumental in managing the strategic transformation of organizational structures across multiple Caribbean countries, enhancing operations, improving efficiencies and promoting a service culture.” 

Mrs. Dasent has more than 20 years of experience across varying sectors, including insurance and financial services, manufacturing, retail and the public sector. Prior to joining PALIG, she held a leadership role at the Flavorite Food Group and was a key member of CLICO’s Strategic Projects team charged with the execution of the Group’s transformation agenda.    

Mrs. Dasent earned her MBA from The University of the West Indies, Trinidad and her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Concordia University, Canada. She holds multiple certifications including the internationally recognized Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).
