PALIG Cares Launches Safe Return Initiative in the Caribbean to Help Small Businesses Reopen Safely During COVID-19
Port of Spain, Trinidad – July 29, 2020 – Pan-American Life Insurance Group (PALIG), a leading provider of life, accident and health insurance services throughout the Americas, today announced the PALIG Cares Safe Return Initiative, a program supporting small businesses throughout the Caribbean helping them create a safe environment for employees and customers as they reopen for business during COVID-19.
In partnership with The American Chamber of Commerce of Trinidad and Tobago (AMCHAM TT) and The Rotary Club, the program provides businesses with a re-entry package including personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hand sanitizers, masks, gloves, directional signage for social distancing requirements and other safety signage.
“Small businesses have been disproportionately impacted by the pandemic. As many regions move into the stabilization phase, PPE will be vital to their recovery,” said Greer Quan, CEO-Caribbean at PALIG. “PALIG Cares Safe Return Initiative is a testament to the power of collaboration and our commitment to the safety and wellbeing of the communities we serve.”
Working with AMCHAM TT and rotary clubs in Barbados, St. Vincent, Grenada, St. Kitts and Nevis, PALIG has identified small businesses with up to 25 employees that have been impacted by COVID-19. The PALIG Cares re-entry packages will help 150 small businesses in Trinidad and Tobago, St. Kitts, Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Dominica, Grenada and Barbados comply with the safety measures outlined by the health ministry and local government authorities to facilitate the safe reopening of their businesses.
PALIG Cares packages will be distributed in Trinidad and Tobago beginning July 31, and throughout the remaining Caribbean islands the week of August 10.
