Pan-American Life Insurance Group Promotes Two Senior Executives As Company Undertakes New Five Year Strategic Initiative

Pan-American Life Insurance Group (PALIG) today announced the promotion of David Demmon to Senior Vice President, CFO and Controller and Bryan Scofield to Senior Vice President of Human Resources. The promotions bolster PALIG’s senior management ranks at a time that the company is enjoying sustained growth and is undertaking a new five year strategic initiative to enhance its position as a leading provider of insurance and financial services throughout the Americas.

David and Bryan are expanding their roles in the company and they will be instrumental in the execution of our new five-year strategic initiative,” said José S. In his capacity as CFO and Controller, Mr. Demmon adds treasury operations and tax accounting and reporting to his existing responsibilities, while also expanding the company's internal control efforts. In addition, he will now serve on PALIG’s Executive Management Committee. 

Mr. Demmon has been Pan-American Life’s Vice President, Controller and Chief Accounting Officer since joining the company in 2012. In more than 30 years as an insurance industry executive, he has held executive management and senior financial management positions with various companies around the world. 

As Senior Vice President of Human Resources, Mr. Scofield is responsible for strategy and administration for Pan-American Life operations in the United States, Puerto Rico, Latin America and the Caribbean. Since joining Pan-American Life in 2000 Mr. Scofield has played a leading role in the integration of several new companies into the PALIG organization. Prior to joining Pan-American Life, he served as Director of Benefits and Compensation at Hancock Bank in Gulfport in Mississippi. 

Mr. Demmon is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Internal Auditor.  He earned his B.S. in Economics from the University of Oregon. 

Mr. Scofield is a member of the WorldatWork -The Total Rewards Association, as well as of The Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM). He also serves as Board Secretary on the Junior Achievement of Greater New Orleans Board of Governors and holds a bachelor of arts from the University of New Orleans in addition to a certificate of Certified Compensation Professional (CCP). 

They will both continue reporting to Carlos Mickan, Vice Chairman of the Board, and head of Finance and Administration.
