The history of Pan-American Life Insurance Group in Latin America began in 1912, thanks to the vision of its founder, Mr. Crawford H. Ellis, a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. In February of 1912, the first life insurance policy was issued in Panama and Pan-American Life was on its way to becoming an “All-the-Americas” company.

Among its accomplishments, Pan-American Life Insurance Group is one of the most solid insurers in the countries in which it operates: Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico and Panama. The group of member companies has been characterized for its leadership in the field of individual life insurance, as well as for being the first companies to offer individual and group health insurance along with offering policies with international plans for affluent clients throughout the Americas.
