-The primary responsibility of the Business Information Services Business Analyst is to perform analytical problem solving for developing and modifying applications systems for multiple business areas within Pan-American Life, mainly LATAM and Caribbean Operations. In this regard, the incumbent should:
-Understand the company’s business as it pertains to the business area, including that area’s specific issues and problems.
-Understand corporate goals and how they relate to the individual business area needs.
-Collaborate with the business area to find solutions (primarily automated) to their business needs.
-Consult with business and IT personnel on feasibility, capabilities, and problem resolution on current and proposed systems.
-Assist with the definition of business requirements into logical, economical, and practical solution design.
-Assist business management in designing and implementing business processes and workflows to maintain productivity levels and implement improvements on an ongoing basis.
-Define use cases and prepare test plans with the appropriate business area to ensure thorough test and validation of completed programs and interfaces to other programs.
-Assist in the preparation of necessary documentation and operating procedures.
-Provide hands-on training for business unit personnel on an as needed basis.
This position will be based on Bogota, Colombia.
The Business Analyst is a member of the Business Information Services department and reports to the Director or assigned Team Leader/Manager for all assignments for our PALIC Home Office and LATAM and Caribbean responsibilities. The incumbent may support different production business unit Manager(s) while working on varied projects for the business area(s). The incumbent will also be accountable for performing project coordination functions and/or updating the assigned Project Manager on all-ongoing assigned tasks and action items. The incumbent should have knowledge of the goals of the organization and how they pertain to the business area and be capable of working with multiple stakeholders. The incumbent may perform the Business Information Services Manager Lead, Manager or Senior Business Analyst duties in their absence. The incumbent must accomplish assigned work within a prescribed time frame (goal dates) and ensure that proper standards are met.
