In July 2012 Pan-American Life Insurance Group acquired the Alico business in Costa Rica.

New Orleans-based Pan-American Life Insurance Company, the Group's flagship member, has been delivering trusted financial services in Costa Rica since 2010 and the integration of the Alico business will allow us to provide even better service to our customers in the country.

Pan-American Life is the main provider of individual and group life and health insurance in Central America. Pan-American Life was the first company in the region to offer individual life insurance, both in the local currency as well as in U.S. dollars. Until the integration of the Alico and Pan-American Life operations in Costa Rica is completed, Pan-American Life will be administering the Alico business and customer relationships.
